ITINERARY:
Day 1: Puno - Copacabana - Sun Island (South) - Inti Wata Complex - Titicaca Lake - La Paz
Early land transfer to Copacabana Sanctuary, board the Catamaran Cruise Ship, snack on board while sailing to Sun Island, the legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire. Visit the Inca Garden, steps and fountain followed by the Inti Wata Cultural Complex including the Equal Underground Museum, the traditional medicine and the Titicaca Reed Shipbuilders display center, the Pachamama agricultural Inca terraces, a handicraft center, the Intica lounge and at the Manco Kapac look out the largest variety of Andean camelids. Also, the Inti Wata Complex at Sun Island includes a unique sailing experience aboard a huge Titicaca traditional vessel for a panoramic visit to the Pilkokaina Inca Palace. Enjoy a buffet lunch on board the catamaran cruise ship before a land transfer to La Paz.Day 2: Tiwanaku, Valley of the moon, City tour and Cable Car
Exploring the Twanakua ruins, you will be picked up from your hotel to visit the epic city of Tiwanaku, the capital of an ancient civilization. Located 72 km away form the city of La Paz and near the south-eastern shores of Lake Titicaca. During its greatest times, the capital of Tiwanaku was the largest in the world and considered to be the Cradle of all American Civilizations. This pre-Inca ruins started endless archeological debates, the most recent radiocarbon 14 tests show that this edifications date back to 1580 B.C.In this ancient breath taking city we will visit the Kalasasaya (Sun) temple, Semisubterranean (Earth) Temple, Akapana Pyramid and the legendary Sun Gate, the tour also takes us to the museum filled with ceramic objects and tools from previous civilizations prior to the Incas
In La Paz you will be picked up from your hotel to visit the famous Witch Doctor's Market, San Francisco Colonial Church and the typical handicrafts of the Sagarnaga Street.The tour continues to Plaza Murillo where the Cathedral,
the Government Palace and the National Congress buildings are located. Then, visit the famous colonial street Jaen where interesting museums are clustered together, followed by a visit to the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of the Tiwanaku Culture. To change scenery the tour continues to the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida. The tour ends with a visit to the unique Moon Valley, where passengers will have the opportunity to walk around, and visit a ceramic workshop with a demonstration of the art of pottery
Transfer to the Cable Car Station to enjoy the incredible experience to fly between the mountains on board of the most modern and unique transportation mean of South America. During the ride amazing views of ihe city will be spotted.
Day 3: Uyuni Salt Flats, Incahuasi Island and Colchani
Private transfer to airport to Uyuni,salt flats and Colchani , on arrival some free time before a 10:30 departure to visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and Incahuasi Island. This island is located in the heart of the salt flat and is the
greatest of a group of islands that represents an isolated ecosystem. The island is populated with a cacti
species that measures up to 12 meters high (26.25 feet). Lunch is served in the middle of the salt flats then the trip continues towards Coquesa village, visit the Tunupa Volcano to visit the Coquesa Mummies. At the end of the afternoon, we will enjoy the sunset, expecting until the sun disappears in the white desert, a must-see. you will then return to the salt hotel for dinner and the night.
During the rainy season, from November to March, the salt flat could be flooded in that case passengers will visit the train cemetery, the Colchani village where it is possible to observe the extracting salt process by hand. Visit the salt eyes, impressive for its geology and cross the salt flat as much as possible to enjoy a beautiful landscape. The entire salt flat is completely cover with water and it becomes in a white giant mirror where the sky is reflected perfectly and everything seems to be floating in the air.
Day 4: Uyuni to La Paz
Airport transfer from Colchani to Uyuni for flight back to La Paz. Take time to explore La Paz and do some last minute shopping.
Day 5: Enjoy breakfast and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
