ITINERARY:
Day 1: ARRIVAL
Welcome at the airport and transfer to your boutique hotel in the heart of Mira Flores
Enjoy the bustling and sophisticated neighbouhood of Miraflores and its vibrant hub the 'Parque Kennedy'
This excursion combines Lima's residential, financial and colonial districts. Beginning by the cliff tops in Miraflores, admire the views over the Pacific Ocean whilst walking to the small Parque del Amor, famous for its romantic statue of two lovers embracing. Continue to 'Huaca Pucllana', a pre-Inca temple of the fifth century, before arriving in the financial district of San Isidro, an elegant suburb with olive grove. Afterwards, local transportation takes you to the outskirts of central Lima where you continue on foot - passing through the baroque Torre Tagle Palace, currently used as the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - to the Plaza de Armas, Lima's grandiose historic main square home to the Cathedral, Presidential and Archbishop's palaces. A pause for a snack at Tanta Restaurant owned by famous Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio is included to sample a typical Peruvian dish. Expect to walk for around 3 hours.
Following lunch then transfer to Callao for a 4-hour yacht cruise to the Palomino Islands,
inhabited by hundreds of sea lions and guano birds. An opportunity to swim with sea lions. San Lorenzo, Peru's largest island, and El Frontón, a former prison island, can also be seen.
Day 3: Lima to Ica
The first stop will be to the desert oasis of Huacachina, set amidst large sand dunes. We will spend the next hour in a dune buggy taking the ultimate adrenalin ride across the dunes. It is like being on your own personal rollercoaster so be prepared for lots of hysterical laughter. Sand boarding is also an option here with the luxury of the dune buggies transporting you to the highest of sand dunes to slide down!
Tonite your hotel is set amidst vineyards. the only hotel of its type in Peru. Upon arrival enjoy a your of the wine region and taste some of the local wine including some pisco
Day 4: Nazca Lines and Paracas National Park
Early morning transfer from hotel to Ica's airfield for your next adventure, a 1-hour round trip flight over the
mysterious Nazca Lines -- huge birds and animals, geometrical lines resembling a landing field, and other markings. There are many reasons behind these bizarre and quite incredible lines. Decide for yourself as to how they have been preserved over time and by whom.
Upon return your private car will be waiting for the 55 km trip North to the Paracas National Park. This is the jumping off point for your next adventure: a boat trip across to the Ballestas Islands where you will see colonies of sea lions, the rare blue footed boobie, humbolt penguins and guano sea birds.
The boat will showcase this rugged and quite unique desert coastline with a large candalabria engraved into the landscape, another mysterious desert marking aka Nazca.
Your hotel tonight is located in the Paracas Bay. Upon check-in you have exclusive access to its unique pre colombian museum offering more than 250 authentic pieces from across Peru.
Day 5: Paracas to Lima
Following breakfast your private car will drive you back to Lima and to your hotel or airport in time for onward travel.
